Q. How do I know I need custom orthotics?

A. There are many health practitioners that only advertises the benefit of custom orthotics is aligning lower limb and body to neutral position to allow the lower limbs to function in it's most efficient and injury preventative state. However, custom orthotics has many more functions than just correcting alignment. Adding a variety of modifications and designs to custom orthotics can relief callouses, warts, corns, heel spurs, and much more. Patients that are diabetic, arthritic, or bear simply any skin conditions will benefit from specially designed custom orthotics as well.

Q. Do I need a prescription for custom orthotics?

A. Yes. Custom orthotics are medical devices and require prescriptions in order to be dispensed from a C. Ped (C). Prescriptions can generally be provided to you from either your MD, Podiatrist or Chiropodist.

If you do not have a family doctor and are looking to get a prescription/referral, we do have a partnership with MediOne Physicians (https://medionephysicians.com/) that would be able to assist. Please contact us for more details.

 Q. Do I need to pay taxes for custom orthotics, and the products we dispense?

A. It depends. If you have a prescription for medical products, which are zero-rated tax, will be exempt from taxes. All other products, services that are provided that do not require prescriptions will incrue taxes.

Q. Do I need claim forms with my claim?

A. Yes, if you are planning on submitting a paper claim to your insurance. You will need to locate your own claim form from your insurance company and submit along with the accompanying documents to your insurance. In contrast, if you have an online log in with your insurance, it may be easier to submit an online claim rather than a paper claim. Please check with your insurance for further details.

Q. I didn’t get paid fully from my insurance, can you do something about it?

A. No. We are not responsible for any discrepancies between our pricing and your insurance coverage. It is the patients’ responsibility to know how much they’re covered for and to acknowledge any differences in coverage after products have been dispensed or service has been provided.
